Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Fly to Chennai Assistance and transfer to hotel. After lunch at hotel leave for half day sightseeing tour and visit Gandhi Memorial, Kala Kshetra, Mylapore temple and Marine beach. Dinner and overnite at hotel in Chennai.
Day 2: Chennai- Tirupathi-Chennai After breakfast drive to Tirupathi to see the famous Temple of sri Balaji on the top of 860 meter high Tirumala hills. It is believed to be amongst the oldest and richest temples in the country. In the evening return to Chennai for dinner and overnight stay. Day 3: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mamallapooram After breakfast drive to Kanchipuram, famous as a city of 1000 Temples and still has 124 shrines. The first temple dedicated to Shiva was built in the 7th and 8th century and has paintings on the walls. Temples of Ekambaswara , Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are of interest. Later drive to Mamallapooram (Mahabalipooram) and check in at hotel. In the Afternoon leave for half-day city sightseeing to see the ancient carved sculptures of demons, Gods and animals. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Mamallapooram. Day4: Mamallapooram - Tiruvannamalai - Pondicherry After breakfast drive to Tiruvannamallai, a pilgrim centre with an ancient temple of Lord Shiva. After sightseeing, proceed to Pondicherry, the erstwhile French colony. Dinner and overnight Stay at hotel in Pondicherry. Day 5: Pondicherry After breakfast leave for Aurbindo Ashram. This ashram promotes Aurbindo\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s ideas in bringing about a synthesis of Yoga and modern science, so as to unite the spirit and matter. Later visit Auroville to watch unique experiment of creating a new environment where men and women of all nationalities live together in harmony. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Pondicherry. Day 6: Pondicherry - Chidambaram - Tanjore After breakfast drive to Chidambaram to visit the famous Nataraja temple with the root of the sanctum-sanctorum covered with golden plates. Natraja is Lord Shiva as a cosmic dancer. After visiting Nataraja Temple, drive to Thanjavur enroute visiting the Brass factory at Kumbakonam. Visit Brahadeswara temple(or the big temple of God), which is 66 meter high, in Tanjore. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Tanjore. Day 7: Tanjore - Trichy After breakfast leave for Trichy, also known as Trichurapalli, situated on the banks of Kaveri River. it is famous for Ranganath temple at Srirangam. Checkin at hotel. Afternoon halfday city tour visiting Rock fort and its temple at a height of over 23mts. Also visit Srirangam and Jambukeshwar Temple. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Trichy. Day 8: Trichy - Madurai After breakfast proceed to Madurai. The ancient city of Madurai, some 2600 years old is laid out in the banks of river Vaigai as a lotus flower with the world-famous Meenakshi temple in the centre. Half-day city tour visiting - Meenakshi temple, King Tirumala\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Palace, Great tank and Gandhi museum. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Madurai. Day 9: Madurai –Rameshwaram-Madurai After breakfast proceed to Rameshwaram, the most sacred temple town of India, where one of the twelve Jyotirlingam shrines is located. Ramnath Temple is also well known for its magnificent corridors and the massive sculptured pillars. Return to Madurai for dinner and overnite stay at hotel. Day 10: Madurai – ChennaiAfter breakfast transfer to airport to fly to Chennai, where rooms are available for day use. After farewell dinner transfer to international airport to fly back to your country.
